Register and Connect
To use LetterClick you must sign up for an account at www.letterclick.com and be using
an email program for the email address you have specified to us. The
first time you use LetterClick you must first connect the email program
on your computer to the LetterClick server using the
instructions we provide. You need to do this step for each computer
that you use to send and receive email for this email address, if you
use more than one computer.
Sending BrandMail®
Sending BrandMail® is just like sending regular email. Easy! Attachments,
Multiple recipients (up to 50), CC:s, BCC: all work just the same!
If you don't want to send a particular email in BrandMail® format, you
can just type NOBRAND or NOFORMAT and a space at the front of your
subject line, it will be removed and the message will go out just the
way you typed it without BrandMail® formatting... remember to add your
signature lines as BrandMail® will not be automatically adding them.
Your account also comes with a personal BrandMail® format. Simply type
TEMPLATE=prs and space before your Subject line to use this personal
style BrandMail® format for a particular email. You can view and
configure this format by logging into your account at
www.letterclick.net and using Change My - Profile - Stationery -
Personal - BrandMail®.
If you are a BrandMail® customer who registered for our service prior to
November 2003 and receive an error when using TEMPLATE=prs, then log
into your account and use Contact Us to request an update to your
account that will allow you to send this BrandMail® style.
BrandMail® Account Settings
Your BrandMail® account has two settings you should know about. Initially
your account is set so that you will receive a formatted copy of every
email that BrandMail® processes for you, so that you can see exactly what
BrandMail® does with your messages and can file an exact copy of what
your recipient receives. If you want turn this feature off for any
reason, simply log into your account at www.letterclick.net and use the
Change My - Profile page referenced in the left margin menu.
Your account is also initially set so that BrandMail® will format emails
to yourself, or to others in your company (e.g. @ibm.com). You may want
to turn this feature off, as it usually unnecessary to use BrandMail®
formats within your company. If you want turn formatting inside your
company off, log into your account and use the Change My - Profile left
menu item.
Changing Your BrandMail® Content
Your BrandMail® closing, signature choice and personal contact
information can all be modified by you. You can even load the marketing
message area of your BrandMail® and change logos and signature files. If
you want to make changes in your personal information or change the
content of your BrandMail®, simply log into your account at
www.letterclick.net and use the Change My - Stationery page referenced
in the left margin menu, then choose Business BrandMail®. You will be
able to view and change which signature is used on your BrandMail®, make
changes to your contact info, and will be able to alter several other
aspects of your BrandMail® content.
Your account is also initially set so that BrandMail® will format emails
to yourself, or to others in your company (e.g. @ibm.com). You may want
to turn this feature off, as it usually unnecessary to use BrandMail®
formats within your company. If you want turn formatting inside your
company off, log into your account and use the Change My - Profile left
menu item.
Customizing BrandMail® Formats
The format of your BrandMail® is controlled by a special HTML template.
Initially your account is set up with a standard template that contains
your business graphics, signature and information. You may log into your
account at www.letterclick.net and select Change My - Stationery -
BrandMail® to choose and customize your BrandMail® appearance. You can
even add marketing messages and disclaimers to your BrandMail®.
If you are a BrandMail® customer who registered for our service prior to
November 2003 and your layout style shows as Custom when you view
stationery, then use Contact Us tab to request an update your account so
that you can view, choose other formats and customize your BrandMail®
format.
If you want to further customize your BrandMail® HTML or hire a web
graphics designer to do so, you can. Design of our templates is not
recommended for novices, as many HTML design considerations need to be
kept in mind, just as for web pages. You may contact us for
recommendation of a web designer to assist you, or to obtain complete
instructions on how you can work with a designer to create and load your
own default templates.
You may also have more than one BrandMail® template that you use. In this
case, additional formats beyond your default template are named and you
use them by typing TEMPLATE="name" at the front of your subject line.
Using BrandMail® for Mailings
BrandMail® includes features for permission based emailings to your
customers and prospects. No SPAM is allowed, and membership and service
will be terminated if LetterClick is used for unsolicited email
advertising.
The BrandMail® List Mailing feature is quite powerful. You create a Comma
Separated Value (CSV) format file with your data with Microsoft Excel or
by exporting, minimally a list of email addresses, and attach it to the
HTML email you wish to send. You can send your standard BrandMail® format
or any HTML email with a list of recipients to
SendToList@letterclick.net,
and it is processed into individually addressed and sent emails. You can
even provide recipient specific data (if any) to be merged into each
email. There is a $0.02 surcharge for each email sent
with this feature. For complete info on this feature of BrandMail®, click here.
If You Have a Problem
BrandMail® is very reliable, however, because there are hundreds of
different email programs and servers installed, we occassionally hear of
a problem where a BrandMail® cannot be delivered or may not display
properly. We have a simple procedure for problems that arise with how
BrandMail® displays, or with deliveries that provides us most of the
technical information that we need to resolve a problem.
If it is a display problem, have your recipient who has the problem
forward your email and a description of the display problem to TroubleReport@hq.letterclick.com
(or TR@letterclick.com).
If you receive a delivery error message email that you do not
understand, you should forward that email message to TroubleReport@hq.letterclick.com
(or TR@letterclick.com).
Thank you for choosing LetterClick. We welcome any suggestions you
may have for improving the value of our service to you.
